About Sonflower Christian Preschool
Sonflower Christian Preschool believes that young children learn best through creative play. Our hands on curriculum uses play with structured activities to promote the development of cognitive, motor, and social skills. Activities allow each child to learn and grow at their own rate and in their own way by emphasizing the learning process, not just the end product. Portfolios record each child’s development and growth demonstrating how our curriculum aligns with the Colorado Education Standards and Preschool guidelines.
Director Job Application
As a preschool Director, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality early childhood education to young learners aged 2.5 to 5 years old. Our program consists of two vibrant classrooms, catering to over 30 enthusiastic students. You will work alongside a team of 6 to 10 experienced and nurturing staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Sonflower Christian Preschool was designed to be a witness of God’s love to the community. Our hope is for the director to be intentional in creating opportunities to share the love of Jesus with students, staff, and families.
Our Programs
Learning Through Play
Sonflower Christian Preschool understands that each child is an individual, and with that comes individual needs. We are so excited to work with parents to create a custom schedule that helps to provide nurturing and stimulating care for all students.
Full Day Preschool
7:30 am to 3:15 pm
In our Full Day Preschool Program students will engage daily in play based and outdoor learning opportunities. In the classroom students will go through a variety of guided activities as well as open discovery. Our classroom changes a little each month to provide students the ability to learn about our monthly theme while participating in dramatic play, building with blocks, creating crafts, and exploring the other fun centers in the room. We ensure that each child receives a minimum of 2 hours of outdoor engagement daily through our outdoor learning opportunities in the school garden or our backyard "forest" and free play.
Half Day Preschool
7:30 am to 1:00 pm
In our Half Day Preschool Program students will engage daily in play based and outdoor learning opportunities just like the Full Day Preschool Program. Half day preschool students will engage in the morning activities and eat lunch with all students prior to pick up. The Half Day Preschool program is a great options for students that have tricky nap times, or extra curricular activities in the afternoon.
After School Care
3:15 pm to 5:30 pm
We provide After School Care for students 2 1/2 to 12 years old. We provide a safe environment for students to spend their afternoon when parents are busy. You will find students spending a majority of the afternoon exploring our outdoor playground or backyard "forest".
From the very first day we went to Sonflower for our family tour, my husband and I looked at each other and smiled. We just knew this was where we wanted our child to be. The curriculum, focus on outdoor play, and small teacher to child ration was exactly what we were looking for. Plus, it’s far more affordable than many schools we looked at (something we didn’t even know until we had decided the Sonflower was going to be our choice- so bonus!)
Our son runs into the classroom in the morning! And during pickup- well, I have to give myself and extra 30 minutes just to make sure he says goodbye to everyone, hugs his teachers, plays with one last toy, etc. lol. I really don’t mind. I so pleased that he feels comfortable enough in his school that I practically have to bribe him to go home!
It makes me feel wonderful that they are so caring, thoughtful and dedicated to not only child, but all the children. They are always ready to take on the day with the kids and are excited and happy to do so. Truly a gem!
Our Mission
We believe that children thrive in an environment which values each student as an example individual, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.
